I'm currently a freshman at the local highschool. I have been taking chinese outside of school biweekly for the past couple of months (my teacher teaches at a local day school). I take Spanish through school, they do not have a chinese program. All the schools I'm applying to have a chinese program and I have two questions:
1: Could I continue both chinese and spanish at bs , depending on if/where I get in (Andover,Taft,Hotchkiss, tbd)
2: Do schools typically give placement exams for foreign languages? For example by the spring I should have the equivalent of Chinese I understanding, but without an actual school credit. It would be a waste to start from scratch.

Yes, many schools allow you to take 2 languages.
Yes, there is typically a placement exam for the languages to put you in the appropriate level.
