I am worried because my grades for French aren't as high as I feel they should be. I took Honors French 3 for Freshman year, which I got a 94 as my final grade, and then I continued with Honors French 4 for Sophomore year, but this time I got an 88 as my final grade. Will colleges care specifically about my foreign language grade? My other grades are in the A range.

Unless foreign languages are your main focus, those grades probably won’t matter much more than other grades.

They care more because it’s a grade than because it’s foreign language.

If you can manage to take four years of a foreign language without wrecking your GPA, it’s a good idea to do so, since most top schools recommend that now.

I will definitely be taking it during Junior year as an Honors class. But should I take it as an AP class during Senior year? I don’t really care much for French, and I am planning on going to an engineering school, so I’m wondering if I should take Honors French during senior year rather than AP french.
