Hi, I have 2 Spanish credits and I’m wondering if I need to take spanish 3. Will I have a chance of getting in without 3?
From what I understand, taking Spanish 3 would only be an advantage in that it looks good, and you could get more college Spanish credits that way. What I mean by that is, most colleges (Clemson included) give foreign language credits to those who take a foreign language placement test and take a semester in the class the test places them in. If they pass that class, they get credit for that class and all the levels below it. So Spanish3 would be a slight advantage, but I don’t think it’ll make or break your admittance decision.
@Julgibby Clemson strongly recommends 3 years of a foreign language. If you want to be competitive for admission against other potential applicants , I would take Spanish 3 if you have the opportunity. Clemson had over 20,000 applicants last year, and accepted a little over 1/2 that.
