I’m in kind of a ridiculous situation.
I took 2yrs of french based on recommandation of my teacher and counselor.
(Even after I said I am aiming for Ivy schools)
But it turned out most of the schools that I am concerning recommand 4
years of foreign languge.
well I took 4 yrs of foreign language but that’s English!
Yes, I speak korean smoothly and english is my 2nd language
I lived in the US for only 4 years.
blimey, but I only took 2yrs of french and that is my concern!
I think they might look at me as a lazy student.
whoo… is this situation going to affect me greatly?

They recommend not require 4 years of foreign language. It depends on what you took insead of the foreign language. If you took a study hall then you may be lazy. If you took other classes to explore your interests or expand your horizons, thats better. The best substitute is taking AP classes. You can always include a letter to the college explaining why you decided not to take a language.

also mention your proficency in korean

if your good at french, you might want to take an sat II or even an ap to show it

they're offering AP korean the comming up school year along with chinese and japanese i think
