Foreign language make or break my chances?

Hi. Before I start I just want to give you some background. I took a french introductory course back in 6th grade and I liked the language. Living in southern california where everyone seemed to take spanish made me want to choose french so that if the time came I could study in france for a semester or so. However, when I took it my freshman year and ended up not liking it but was encouraged to continue becuase colleges like four years of a language but I’m really kind of hating it and I’m not doing well in it. I have a low B. The semester is closing in and I doubt I can get my grade back up.
What can I do? I want to get into an in-state college preferably UC Riverside, UC Irvine or USC and am aiming to be a science major. Next year I was planning on taking Honors English, AP Bio, AP Physics, Sports Medicine, Action Civics/Sociology, Photography, Math III and French 3.I am think of dropping french next year? Will this affect my chances of getting in? Is there other courses reccomended for the colleges I am aiming for?

UCs minimally require level 2 of a foreign language, but prefer level 3 or higher, for admission. In many cases, they have foreign language graduation requirements that specify a higher level than that.

Stick to level 3. After that see whether you want to continue on to level 4 or not.
