Hi everyone,
I’m currently finishing up sophomore year, and, having already completed course selections for next year, I’ve been trying to plan out my schedule for senior year. I’m in the highest select chorus in my school, and, because of this course as well as the health and microeconomics courses my school requires you to take, I have to choose between taking an AP science (either bio or environmental) and dropping Spanish completely or taking AP Spanish and taking a science elective, most likely a half year one.
For context, other classes I will take senior year include:
AP Psychology
AP Literature
AP Calc (probably BC)
Chamber Choir (H)
Health (CP) - required half year course/no honors option
Microeconomics (H) - required half year course
Also, by senior year, I will have taken 3 years of science (biology, chemistry, and physics), and 5 years of Spanish (2 in middle school, and 3 in high school - up to Spanish IV).
So far, my grades place me at the top of my class, so I’m wondering whether highly selective colleges would prefer to see the AP Spanish with a science elective or the AP science with an elective (likely an English or history elective).
Normally, I try not to care too much about how things will look on my college application and just choose challenging courses that I want to take, but, as I’m not super interested in Spanish or science, I’m curious as to which one is preferable.
Thanks for any advice!
