How tough is the Spanish test that you take during orientation? Does anybody remember? Truthfully, I would like to score really well on it so I can skip the basic classes.

same question, but for German :D

I thought the Spanish test wasn’t too bad, but I don’t really know how I would’ve scored because I didn’t want to skip the classes, so I just made a cute design with my scantron. It’s like the verbal section of the SAT, except in Spanish.

(lol cute designs with the scantron) Oh so basically all it is reading and Vocab?

If I remember correctly, yes. I wouldn’t say the readings are easy, and it really depends on your background from high school, but I think if you were good at Spanish, then you’d have a fair chance at skipping at least the first class.

My DD took 4 years of Spanish in high school (one was AP) and exempted all her languague requirements at UGA with credit. I guess it depends how much Spanish you took in high school and how much material was covered. When I went to UGA many, many moons ago, I exempted Spanish I and went right into Spanish II, but was so lost, I changed and went back to Spanish I. I guess my high school Spanish education wasn’t up to par!

For my german peeps:

I got a 2 on the AP exam when I took it as a sophomore.

Did not study at all for the placement test.

I got 4 credit hours and placement in German 2001. Super easy.

For those in Spanish I was able to earn 7 Credits.
I placed into Spanish 2002. Just look out for the conjugation of subjunctive in the begining and the stories in the back. They are all really easy. Well if you have had three years of spanish
