Foreign Language Placement Tests

I have taken four years of both Spanish and German. I was wondering how the foreign language placement tests work for madison, and if you can take two on the test dates. You can take the placement tests at one of the uw campuses, and you do not need to sign up for placement tests in Spanish, French, or German. But there is absolutely no information for if you can only take one or multiple.

You can call and ask.

The reason to take placement tests is to be properly placed in the UW class in the language. The reason to bother is to get retroactive credits once you finish a UW course. If you are not planning to take the language at UW there is no reason to take the placement test. Your HS years of foreign language will count towards UW graduation requirements without continuing the language at UW. Not taking the language at UW frees up time for another class.
