I know that rutgers requires that for a foreign language you cannot have taken it in high school. But what if you took the language many years ago like 8 years ago? Can you still take it? In high school I took italian I in 03-04 and italian II in 04-05

I had an advisor mention something about this but I forgot exactly what he said and was wondering if anyone here had experience with this to be 100 percent sure.

I don’t really understand the question, could you explain?

They encourage everyone to take a language placement test when placement testing is done in the spring, but all majors do not require that you take a language, once at Rutgers.

Well right now I am attending a county college and I need a foreign language to transfer to rutgers NB. It says on NJ transfer that you will not receive credit for the foreign language if you took it in high school. I took Italian in high school many years ago though so I was wondering if it still mattered.

I was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience.
