Foreign Language requirement for transfers?

I am transferring from a CCC and I have taken one semester of American Sign Language so far. I took only one year of Spanish in high school. I am going to apply for the TAG and I am currently completing the IGETC. My MAP(My Academic Plan) instructed me to choose just one foreign language class.
My question is, do I need more than one semester of a foreign language or is that enough? My major is English and on Assist it says I have two options.
Option 1 is completion of 4th semester in any language taught at UCSB or other languages considered by petition.
Option 2 is to complete semester 2 or equivalent of a foreign language and complete 3 upper division courses at UCSB.

Which do I do?? What my MAP says for the IGETC or what is on Assist?

And does anyone know if UCSB offers ASL or if I can take it at SBCC while attending UCSB? Sorry for all the acronyms :/

To major in English, you need college level language, and ASL may not count as a foreign language - please check with UCSB.

For Option 1, this means you must have taken 4 CC semesters of a single language.

For option 2, it means 2 CC semesters of a single language plus 3 other (typically) English literature classes such as world literature, Bible as liteeature, etc.

The 1st CC semester of a language is usually equivalent to the first year of high school level. The 2nd CC semester of a language is usually equivalent to the 2nd and part or most of the 3rd years of high of school level.

Yes you need more than one college semester.
