Okay, I completed high school abroad, where filipino and english are primarily the languages of instruction. Does this count for the IGETC?

if u can transfer over the credit, than ur fine, if not, then ur gonna have to take the classes here.

Well, what I mean is the foreign language requirement. I need 2 or 3 years of language proficiency, but I had 4 years of studying filipino. Anyone who suffered the same fate as I did? I’m not being particular about filipino, other languages are fine.

yes i get that ur talking about the FL req, my friend went thru the same process. He had to have his school transcript or w/e, shipped over here from Fiji, and then he took it to a counselor and they figured it out from there.

and the result?

the admissions advisor at cal told me that highschool study of a fl covers the fl req. i was not told i needed to provided any documentation.

thats not true, you will need to provide documentation, after u are accepted, they ask you send in your HS transcripts to verify that uve done ur FL req.

In that case, they have no proof. Anyone can say “oh, I studied this at this high school”, even though they didn’t.

I can send transcripts from grade school to my junior year in high school.
