Foreign Language Requirement

At my HS it was said that you needed 2 years of a foreign language if you are a college bound student. I took Spanish I and Spanish II Plus. Now, looking at Brown admissions reqs it says it REQUIRES 3 and recommends 4. NOT GOOD! There is absolutely no way I can go back and take Spanish III without taking Spanish for a year. I'll forget everything. Do you think I could fill the requirement by taking a Latin I course or something other than Spanish?

Also, on this board people seem to recommend taking classes like Spanish 5 etc... our school has only I, II, III, and then AP. How can you have 5 levels of classes? Thanks.

I would look closely at the requirements for Brown...some colleges want 3 consecutive years of the same language.

I took Spanish I over my 7th and 8th grade years, and then took II in grade 9, III in grade 10, IV in 11, and V currently..oh wait I only took up to IV. But that's how you can have the 5th level.
