Is it true that you have to have 3 years of a foreign language to be considered for admission at Clemson?
@pl215382 it says it is suggested you take three years of the same foreign lanugage in HS. However, if you have only two or two of one language and one of another they want to know why.
They say it is required but I know several accepted without it. It all comes back to the same thing. Clemson cares about SAT/ACT scores and little else.
@SCTigermom They also care about class rank…
GPA is pretty important as well. In fact they look at GPA, test scores , rank and rigor in that order
I took only two years of Spanish. Junior year I opted to not take a third year of foreign language, but still had a full schedule (AP Chem, Calc BC, and Physics.) I received my class of 2022 acceptance letter just before Christmas so it clearly didn’t hinder me. My recommendation is if you have a class of interest to takes its place, drop the foreign language. Otherwise, don’t just drop the language simply because you don’t like it and would rather have a free period/easy class.
