I know that we have to take 3 classes or go up to the 100-level by graduation for Trinity.

I am currently in Spanish 63. My experience with the class makes me uneasy about going on to 76 and beyond. I think I'm going to get a B/B- in the class.

After a crappy first semester (did catastrophically in a class, I am thankful that I don't have anything like that this semester), I really need all the A's I can get.

Would it be easier to get an A through foreign languages if I were to take (Chinese, Russian, Italian) 1/2 instead of going on to Spanish 76, 100-level?

You'd probably be best off taking levels 1/2 for another romance language. I speak one of them and found that learning other romance languages knowing just that one was a piece of cake.

You have to take 3 classes in the SAME language, by the way, so your Spanish 63 would be going to waste if you switch languages.

Still, I could have either started Spanish 100-level when I got here or started a new language. I chose to start Italian instead. Best decision I could have made...it's ridiculously easy if you know another romance language, especially if it's either Spanish or French. Plus all the teachers are extremely nice, and I've only heard bad things about the Spanish department here.
