I was wondering if anyone on this forum knows what the foreign lang requirement is at Clemson. I've seen threads relating to specific majors, but is there a more general way to know if you'll need to take one? For instance, could 3 or 4 years of the same lang in hs satisfy the need to take it again if you're studying for a bs degree? Seems like the core curriculum varies at some schools depending on what you're majoring in, and others require it no matter what.

Yes there is a way to know, it’s called the “Undergraduate Announcements” book. It’s probably the most important book/brochure you’ll receive from Clemson all 4 years because it tells you what classes you have to take/when and has a list of courses.

Here’s the link to the online copy: [courses of instruction](<a href=“Records and Registration | Clemson University, South Carolina”>Records and Registration | Clemson University, South Carolina)
What you do is click on the college where your major is located, and in that link will be a list of majors listed for that college and the courses that you have to complete in order to get a degree for that major. If a “foreign language requirement” is listed under your major, you will need to take a foreign language class.

However, you can fulfill your requirement if you have taken an AP/IB language test and have received a satisfactory score (3 or above) on it. From the Undergraduate Announcements page, click the “Admissions” link and I believe in that link will be a list to see how many credits you can get from the AP/IB tests.

Got it! Thanks, Pierre
