<p>Columbia requires 4 credits of foreign language. I have taken french 3 in 9th grade, french 4 in 10th grade, and ap french in 11th grade. I'm not taking any languages in my senior year. However, I have never taken middle school french classes because I only moved to the United States for 9th grade. Does that count as I have 3 credits and will that hurt my application for columbia.</p>
<p>When you have reached AP level in a foreign language, you are fine without taking further class for admission purpose. In addition, students may also be exempted from the Core Curriculum foreign language requirement if they pass a test given at the first week of their freshman year.</p>
