Foreign Language Requirements

Does anyone know the requirements the medical schools have for foreign languages classes for undergrads? I'm BME so taking on a foreign language will probably complicate my schedule, so I might take languages over the summer if I have too.
Thanks.

The only one I've ever heard of is UCLA's strong recommendation for Spanish.

does AP fulfill that req? or is it the same w/ all the other ones where u have to take a yr at the actual college?

It's not a requirement... it is just a recommendation.

oh yeah good pt lol, but does AP credit count for that recommendation?

I don't think it's really something that you can check off as "yeah I have my spanish credit." They're looking for people who can speak Spanish or have a good knowledge of Spanish so you can be a better doctor for latino communities.

From what I gather, "strongly recommended" is generally a requirement if you want to be a competitive applicant.

Actually, it is something you can check off since on the secondary it asks if you have 1 year of college-level Spanish and the only two buttons available are "Yes" and "No." I don't think UCLA takes AP credit to satisfy any of their requirements/recommendations.

thanks guys
