I want to know if the information that I have is correct.

you must take 4 semesters (2 years) of a foreign language in UT

if you took three years of a foreign language in high school, you do not have to take any foreign language classes in UT

also, does the three classes in high school have to be an AP/Dual Credit class, or just any level?

Even more details - this shows when you can take tests to show you know as much as you would learn in two years of college, and get credit for two years of college, for a fair number of languages: Test Period and Test Description

thanks :) i guess I'm done with my foreign languages then. yay for three years of spanish! but chances are I might choose another language for the fun of it :P

if you have taken three years of a language in high school, do you have to take some sort of test to prove that you are proficient? are these requirements new?

does it have to be one of the spanish, french, german, italian, chinese bunch that is pretty common or can it be a language of your own choosing?

im born and raised in sweden(yes international student) and so im fluent in swedish, would that count if i took a test and proved it do you think ? cuz i took 3 years of swedish in high school, cuz i was in sweden :p
