How important is it to Wharton/UPenn that an applicant take an SAT-II in a foreign language?

uhhh....irrelevant

Sorry...
It's just that a college admissions counselor told me I'm at an extreme disadvantage because I haven't taken a foriegn language SAT-II [and can't take on in Oct].
:/

most kids don't....I am not sure why they say/list that on the website. Every kid that I know who got accepted (10+) did not take a foreign language SAT II.

the site says a foreign language test is recommended for those applying to the college, which i'd guess is CAS. since you're applying to wharton, you're recommended to take a math instead.

i think a score around 650+ on a language does exempt you from the foreign language requirement for wharton, so that might be something to look into if you're accepted.

A high score on the SAT-II can get you out of some language requirements, but only for certain languages. You definitely need to check before relying on that. For instance, the Chinese SAT-II does nothing for you since the scores are so inflated by native speakers.
