Foreign Language SATII Study Strategies!

With the foreign languages each taking on such a broad spectrum of testable material (which study books can rarely cover entirely), let's all share our study strategies! What do you find most effective? What are some books you recommend for each language? What other sources do you use?

I am planning on taking French in October. Nonetheless, I am watching French television (perks of living in Canada!) with closed captioning. I try to watch a variety of shows (even really boring ones) just to become accustomed to different sets of vocabulary.

Currently, I am only studying from one study guide, the Barron's book which I am told is not very good. I'm debating between buying the REA book off Amazon or the PR one. The REA has good reviews but I'm not really familiar with the company. Anyone have any recommendations for French subject study guides?

To improve my general reading skills, I am also borrowing French periodicals from the library and working my way through a novel.

In terms of vocabulary...I'm making flash cards. It's tedious and it doesn't work that well (especially with verbs with multiple meanings).

What are YOU doing?
