Foreign Language Schedule Conflict

So I've taken 2 years of Latin in high school already, but I just found out that orchestra and Latin 4 are scheduled for the same class period next year and I have to pick one (I was planning to self study latin 3 over the summer to take 4th year as a junior). If I choose orchestra, will it hurt my admission to top universities to only have 2 years of foreign language?

Also, Latin 3, 4, and AP are all in the same class, so I can't just not skip 3rd year and I won't be able to go back to Latin as a senior.

Take Latin. Most top colleges recommend 3 or 4 years of a language.

I doubt this will be a problem. You have a good reason (orchestra) for not taking four years. Assuming your grades in Latin are good, carry on and don’t worry about it!

Can you continue to study Latin online? It would probably cost you money, but it would address your problem, and it would allow you to prepare for the subject test in Latin, or perhaps even an AP.

Why not just take Latin 3 during the school year.

qialah- Latin 3, 4, and 5 are same class period (because there’s not enough people in Latin to have more teachers or separate classes) so I can’t take any advanced Latin class if I want to be in orchestra

It really depends on what schools you’re planning on applying to and what they require/recommend.

Thanks everybody, I was actually able to figure out an independent study plan with my teacher, so everything should work out.
