will the fact that my foreign language in high school is going to be 5 levels of latin be bad because it is a dead language if i am trying to get into SFS?

No, it says on their site "SFS is interested in students with a wide variety of language backgrounds, including those who have studied Latin."

It won't affect you getting in, but to graduate from the SFS, you must pass a proficiency exam in a Modern Language. This just means that you'll have to start a modern language in college to get your proficiency.
