How are the foreign language courses at Penn, in terms of how much they cover, difficulty, etc.?

I am especially interested in Spanish or French, so how are those courses?

They are great (Spanish at least).

Are they interesting? Like do they go over any culture and stuff or is it strictly language? sounds good though!

Language first (with basic culture thrown in), but once you get past the advanced stages, then you just take classes that happen to be in a language.

For example, instead of a “Spanish” major, Penn has a “Hispanic Studies” major (and minor) that first encompasses the language aspects then has other classes on anything from history to film that are taught in spanish.
