I live in Canada where we learn French from kindergarten-grade 8 as a requirement. From there, it’s our option to take French from grade 9-12, but hardly anyone ever takes languages as juniors and seniors, since we don’t have honours or AP. Currently, I’m going into Sophmore year and I have to choose between Entrepreneurship or French. Will it be so bad if I take Entrepreneurship instead of French, or should I stick with French, even though I’ll only have 2 credits?
Many kids seem to think an entrepreneurship class or similar are big rigorous deals like studying at Wharton or getting an MBA. Not. Same for many hs electives.
I doubt you’d better your chances by omitting a foreign language. And not just French, which is already familiar.
Continue with French. Take the subject test in may or june. If you can score 600+ it’s up to you to continue one more year. If you score 700+ you’re good for all US colleges. If you can’t score 600 keep working at it but it’d be pretty lame for a Canadian.
Btw, you have a chance to be bilingual. Its’a gift your Canadian citizenship has bestowed you. See it as an opportunity and make the best of it.
After K-8 French, taking French from grades 9-12 starting at the appropriate continuation level should get you to a higher level of proficiency than a US high school student who starts at high school (beginner level) French 1 in 9th grade.
It is unlikely that high school business courses would be of significant value in preparation for university courses, or advanced placement in university business courses, though they could possibly help you decide if you are interested in the subject. Learning French to a higher level of proficiency is likely to be more valuable generally.
In this case, citizenship has nothing to do with it. While Canada has 2 official languages, make no mistake, this is not a nation of bilingual speakers. 18% of Canadians are bilingual English/French, 85% of who live in Québec or close to its border.

But getting back to the OP, I agree with the others. French would be preferable to Entrepreneurship.
