<p>I don't know if you get credit, but you may not even have to take a language. I don't because I'm in engineering, you're major may be the same way.</p>
<p>Once you are enrolled and get your first transcript, it shows how much credit UW granted you for your AP. Most majors require 1 year of foreign language (3 courses, 1 per quarter). Before you register (in the summer) you may need to take a placement test in your language. The score on the test will determine which class you have to take, if any. You can also email the department of your foreign language and ask them for details.</p>
<p>Here is what the UW website say for AP:</p>
<p>Spanish Language Score is 3,4,5 SPAN 201,202,203 (5,10,15 cr., respectively). Does not imply a particular placement. Intermediate Spanish.
Counts toward Visual, Literary, and Performing Arts general education requirement for graduation.
Also satisfies foreign language graduation requirement of the College of Arts and Sciences.</p>
<p>So you would get 5 hours of Span 201. But they still need to take the placement test for what othyer classes they need.</p>
