how many years of f.l. are ivies looking for? i have 4 atm and i dont wanna take spanish ap , is 4 years of same good enough?

Remember that only the years you take in high school count. (For example, my school lets you take the first year in middle school but it doesn't count with college recommendations.) 4 years are recommended Columbia, and I'm assuming that the other Ivies will have similar recommendations. You can check their websites or College Search - SAT Registration - College Admissions - Scholarships to see.

If I were you, I'd just take the fourth year unless you have a super good reason- that way you won't be closing any doors.

unless you have a scheduling problem, you shouldn't drop spanish, regardless of how many years you've been taking it.

Even IF you run into scheduling problems, don't drop your language!
For the top schools, 4 years of a language is practically a requirement.
Why don't you want to take Spanish AP? I'll be taking that next year, and from what I've heard it's really fun!
