Foreign Language

I bet you've seen these kinds of threads before, but I hope to have a question answered by someone in the know...

I scored a 55 on Cornell's On-line Placement Test (after one year of not doing Spanish too!)

I was hoping to score a 56-64 so I could take a 200-level class in the Spring and fulfill my requirement...

Does anyone know if the placement system is set in stone, or if they might let you enroll anyway or retake the test something in the fall in time for Spring course selection? Thanks!

I'm not sure, but I know when I took intro German this past year, in both semesters (German I and II) on the first day of class the professor had students leave because they clearly had abilities beyond that introductory level. My advice is that since you didn't score high enough, but were close, you should e-mail the language's department, explain your previous training in the foreign language, and see what they say.
