This year, I was planning to take Spanish III, but due to scheduling conflicts (i'd have to drop AP stat for a measly language), I cant take it. However, I am already fluent in another language. So, do colleges like Yale care if you only have 2 language credits, but are fluent in another language, and also substituted the language with AP math/science classes instead? (Stanford requires 3 years, it is mandatory for acceptance on your transcript, or will they forgive you if the rest of your app is outstanding?)

I believe that 3 is a requirement and 4 is recommended

Those requirements are for when you’re actually IN Yale, not for admissions. Yale says to take “the most rigorous course load available to you.” I didn’t take any foreign languages after grade 9 and I got in.

Do we Have to take languages at Yale? Bcz I’m already quaro lingual and will be hexalingual by mid june

Woops *quatro, look at me over here mixing my languages lol

Every undergraduate has to take a foreign language course. If you can read/write/listen/speak fluently, you have to do a L5 course in that language, or a L1 & L2 course in a language you don’t know.
