Foreign Languages- Dilemma!~

Currently I am a freshmen in high school, taking Spanish 1
My friends (including the very academically intelligent ones) are telling me that Spanish 3 is VERY difficult and you have to be VERY motivated to do well in that class.

Seeing that if I continue to take all the way to Spanish 4, I'll be taking Spanish 3 during junior year, and frankly I'd rather concentrate on my math and science classes and whatnots, rather than Spanish.

So I am thinking that
1) I can finish Spanish 1, and take Spanish 2 this summer, and then take Latin 1 as a sophomore, and continue Latin until the end of high school.(so taking latin 1, 2, and 3)
or
2) I can finish up to Spanish 2, take Spanish 3 in the summer of sophomore-junior year (which I am not so sure about) and then take Latin 1 and 2 in my junior+senior year.

I also considered doubling my foreign languages in my sophomore year, but I don't really want to.

They say Latin is relatively easy, and the Latin teachers are all more interesting than the Spanish ones.
Any other suggestions, comments, would be fine.

Unless your planning to become a lawyer, biologist or doctor, or you’re just trying to look smart I would try to just focus on Spanish. According to many that I know, Latin is an even harder language mainly because essentially no one outside of class speaks Latin. There is no entertainment or active culture with Latin. It is a very difficult language to practice.

Spanish 3 can be difficult but in general it isn’t that much more difficult than Spanish 2. Even if it is, if you enjoy the language, you will have a good time learning it. If you do plan to study some Latin, for you, I would choose option 2. In my opinion you should choose the language based on which one you love more and also which one you think you can use and practice more.
