Foreign Med school

I posted this thread in another Sub-forum. Hopefully this sub-forum will generate some more volume.

what is your opinion on going straight from high school to some foreign med school where you can graduate in 6-8 years. Are these colleges a "hoax" or worth looking into? Would one graduating from there be able to practice in the US?

Also, more specifically, has anyone heard of St. Georges University (Caribbean) and/or University of Silesia (poland) ? are these schools "real" in that they are a fine alternative to studying in a straight med program in the US?

Thanks in advance!
