Foreign student - Taking the SAT again

I took the SAT about 2 years ago because I was supposed to receive an athletic scholarship in the US, but decided to stay where I am for a job opportunity.

I am currently thinking about having another go at the scholarship, but I need a better SAT because they are not offering me full athletic scholarships anymore, and it's quite expensive.

My last one was 1500 on the new test, I studied for a couple of weeks using the book " Princeton Review 2008" I got locally.

My question is, should I study from the same book and use the online resources on this site, or get the 2011 new version for 35 dollars ? Is there any difference in the test structure between 2008 and now ?

Note - I know the Blue Book is probably best, but the Princeton is available in the nearest store (and i live in a *****hole) and I do not have the time to study for anything higher than 1800-1900, don't think I can anyway :)

Plus the PR is nicely laid out, very easy to read and to understand... The test from my experience were pretty good, I had no surprises on test day.. I was just stupid :)

Is the blue book a PDF Download ? I don't mind putting 10$ for it then, sure !

I also have 10 official tests from 2005-2007 - Are they still useful for today ?

Thanks for all the nice tips ! Very nice forum.

The blue book cannot be downloaded in PDF format. You have to buy it for $22. Or $12.80 on Amazon.

Hmmm since it’s just good for tests, I will order now and receive it in 2 weeks when I’m ready to actually take tests then… Why not ! Thanks !

Does it contain recent, updated tests? Because I already have 2006 tests (official)

So you reckon if I study real hard for more than a couple weeks using the tips on this site, the Blue Book tests, and the PR book, I should do better than 1600-1700 for the 2nd time around ?

Should I get the 2011 PR ? I have the 2008, anything changed in the SAT since then ?

I think it is quite possible to score more than 1600 - 1700

There’s no need. The two versions will be similar enough that you probably won’t even notice any difference.

Is it the one with the red cover? The format of the old tests are different from the present ones, but some questions can still be useful. I would stay with the current SAT first and only resort to the 2005 version if I run out of up-to-date practices.
