Hello, I am a transfer student and got accepted to UCLA. I have my US transcripts from the community colleges sealed and ready, but the one from my home country is not sealed - I had to open it to fill out my application last fall and my foreign university does not offer unofficial version. Also, it costs $50 for each copy and takes a few weeks to get it prepared.
During the Bruin Day, I was told by a person at the UCLA admissions booth that I just need to have my official transcript translated/notarized. Then, I called during the week to ask for the recommended translation offices and was told that I only need to submit the original and there is no need for a translation. However, the original has to be in a sealed envelope. Since I am not using the credits from my foreign university towards my transfer, I thought that submitting the original without a sealed envelope would be enough, but I was told that it is a standard process for all foreign transcripts.
Is there a formal process/form to submit a request for an extension of a deadline to submit my foreign transcript? Also, did anybody have a similar situation? I just want to make sure that I have the correct information.
Thanks!
