I loved Ender’s Game too, and the Pathfinder books were okay, but the sequels in the EG sucked so badly…

I should probably state that I haven’t read any of his books, and I’m just relying on hearsay for my suggestions. Though I did read part of Night for a project.

Spurs dominated tonight.

2-1. Spurs ftw. Kawhi Leonard.

I’m into depressing books I read Flowers for Algernon and it’s my favorite. So which is better, then? Tuesdays with Morrie or I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings? I already read Night, but I wasn’t really that into it, honestly. Mainly because we had to do this huge packet of questions on it and it just ruined the book for me.

Sorry I’m bringing this up on a thread that’s meant to divert our attentions from school :/

I love all the enders game books

Just cause a guys homophobic doesn’t make the book any worse

Leonard >>>>>>>>>>Lebron

tbh, it’s better than this basketball talk. I’m in hibernation until Wimbledon starts in 2 weeks lol. Also, reading isn’t always school related. My favorites are books I’ve read outside of class. Truth be told, I think most people who don’t read for fun are quite boring anyways.

I read Flowers for Algernon, but didn’t have much of an opinion on it. It was fine. Night was really good, but I’m not a fan of stories that are written in short poems like that.

It’s the Finals. Come on.

I’m so not a sports person, so let me stick with book talk. Whoo. Social awkwardness galore.
Long post is long.

Lol that’s exactly what my teacher was like. He was way-way-way-way-way anti-media and anti-all-books-except-classics-because-classics-are-magically-always-superior. It got old fast. The book was great, though.

Lol isn’t Card a white supremacist, too? At least that’s what a lot of people have told me. No idea, though. TBH I’m not really interested in supporting his books, not because a person’s personal beliefs undermine the story but because (1) an author’s beliefs tend to permeate into his/her texts, no matter how subtly, and (2) I don’t want to support someone like that? Lol. And most importantly, I’m not really interested in the series itself in the first place. If I were, then I’d probably just be like “screw morals” and just be obsessive about the books as usual OTL

@LosingCrayon Go with “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings”. Never even heard of Tuesdays with Morrie, and Maya Angelou was an amazing woman and an amazing writer. She’s also dead sorry sorry sorry so might as well honor her death or whatever if you agree with her beliefs/life decisions. If not, then don’t, lol. Also is Flowers for Algernon the thing about the disabled guy who turns smart and then becomes disabled again? If so, I liked the book, but like with Violet1996, it’s not one of my favorite books or anything.

No, card isn’t really homophobic either, he is just a overtly political republican guy now, his books were written 30-20 years ago

I must say, You and I is a guilty pleaure

Anyone there?

So apparently, according to ESPN, the Heat are trying to get Melo to team up with LeBron, Bosh, and Wade. I highly doubt this actually happens, but that would be ridiculous.

I just registered for all of my classes for the fall. Woo hooo! Productivity!

I’m trying to read some books (actual novels…not AP cram guides) this summer… Any suggestions? (as long as they’re good)

Any cross country runners out there?

@preamble1776 PREAMBLE sobs You’re all grown up now. I remember back when you were applying to college. That seemed just like 6 months ago or so…

@ScholarAthleteXC What kind of genres do you like? I could list a ton. And I ran track in 9th and 10th grade, but stopped because I had other ECs that I was more interested in that interfered with it. I love to run though!

@CE527M Greek/Roman Myths and science fiction mainly, romance (as long as they’re not lame excuses for s*x scenes)

@CE527M What events did you run?
