Forging unofficial transcript

I messed up my first year of college, my parents want to see my transcript, so I was going to change a few grades on photoshop and then show it to them. My question is if ever my college found out would there be serious consequences or would it not be a big deal since only my parents are seeing it.

It is really irrelevant whether or not your college finds out. As a parent, I would be much more disappointed (in my child and myself) if my adult child felt the need to be dishonest with me in this way rather than show me a few low grades.

How would your college find out if they don’t see it?

With the skills you acquire from this exercise, you will be able to add your name to a forged list of college grads a few years from now.

Even if it’s just for a parent to see? I don’t want to send it out to any schools or anything

No it would not be a problem if you are doing it for your own good, however, it is awful that you would do such a thing. Honesty is always the best policy, especially when it comes to your college grades with your parents who I would assume are paying/helping paying for your tuition.

Makes no difference to the college, but parents sometimes have a sense of things so don’t be surprised if you get found out.

I’d be more concerned that your parents may refuse to continue to pay for college if they find out you lied. It’s better to be honest so they can help you. How many courses did you do badly in and how badly did you do? Are you in danger of losing aid or are your GPA and level of academic progress within acceptable ranges? Do you have to retake classes? That may delay graduation and cost additional money. Do you know why you did badly? Are you making changes so you can do better? If you can tell your parents why it happened and how you intend to address it, I think it will go much better than if you lie.
