Changed my login password the other day and couldn’t remember it clearly. It is a backup computer and not being used frequently. How to recover or reset the password?

What type of account is it? If you want to reset the password for local user, you can use offline nt password & registry editor, or Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset:

If you want to recover the original password, you can use Ophcrack.
NTPassword is hard to use as I don’t know much about computer staff.

Use your new local account to migrate all your documents over, make a NEW Microsoft Account if you wish to do so, then convert your local profile to use a Microsoft Account.
If when you boot in to safe mode you cannot login to the Administrator account because it has a password or you’ve forgotten it, then you’ll want to use something like tunesbro to reset it. (don’t think this will work on your MSA account you’ve forgotten the password to though).

I am a user of Asus .i’ve had password loss in the past, I don’t recommend restarting the installation system,because I tried, it was a disaster, you can Open Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage another account.
Select the User Account and on the next screen, click Change the password.

For Windows 10 user to solve this problem , as long as you can login your laptop with other account , you will be able to creat a new password on your Windows 10 .
