Forgot to mention family member, USC denial appealing

I got denied in USC, I'm going to appeal the decision. One thing I didn't know while filling out application that my uncle(mom's brother) had graduated from USC. Do they consider this type of relationship or it has to be immediate family member? What can be done now? Will the later from Trojan(alumni) help?

I really don’t think that will matter, especially after a decision has been made. Time to move on and find a college that accepted you that you will love.

Appeal is not based on this. I just want to use maximum leverage I can use when I appeal.

That’s a non factor. Don’t mention it – it’s straw grasping.

USC doesn’t consider legacies. Uncle never counts anyway.

Remember an appeal should be based on new information or information that was not previously provided that you believe will make a substantial difference in your “profile”. An appeal to simply say, “I really want to go and you are making a mistake by not letting me in.” will go no where. Sometimes you can plead your way off of a waitlist by stating you will definitely enroll if taken off of the waitlist and will pay full freight, but a denial under most circumstances is unfortunately usually final.

@BrownParent, according to http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg02_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=1138</a> legacy is considered, but I agree uncles would not count.
