So I’m coming from a 4-year university but I’ve been taking CA community college classes at the same time (online) to get CCC status (hopefully).
Looking back at my application I remembered that I failed to mention why I wanted to transfer. It seems like such an obvious thing now, but I feel stupid for not including it.
I mention why I am passionate about the major plenty of my times in my application, I always just assumed the reason I want to transfer was obvious (better schooling). I also have all my major pre-reqs done for most of the majors I applied for.
Will I be OK or was mentioning an explicit reason for transferring super important?
It’s okay I think everyone wants to transfer.
As far as the CCC status goes I’m not sure since it’s cross enrollment at a 4-year and to my understanding UCs take CCC students because they don’t have the same opportunity that 4-year University students do: earn a Bachelor’s degree
@hoshizora ya I’ve been told the same thing also about how CCC kids don’t have the same opportunity. For what it’s worth I got the IGETC certification (which is given through a CCC) and i have 2+ semesters at a CC w/ 30+ semester of credit from a CCC so I’m just hoping and praying they’ll consider me.
I know ppl who drop out of 4 years and got to CC and then apply to the UCs. I feel like I’m kinda the same just that instead of dropping out re-enrolling and applying and wasting more time I’m trying to get it done in one shot (we’ll see how it works though).
Ahhh yeah I know people who do that and they complained about how their chances will be lower because they dropped out of a 4-year once. Good luck tho!
Anyways some CC students like me just didnt get into a 4-year the first time and wanted to transfer but reason is not important. I think what’s more important is what you can accomplish there after you transfer but it’s not something you have to explicitly state in your apps
