Hello,
I just realized that I did not self-report any of my AP scores, and I started being really worried about whether that would look bad to admission officers and hurt my chance.
I took a total of five AP exams, and is planning to take five more this year.
Is there a way to notify the admission officers about my AP scores? And would it be worth notifying?
Thanks!
Send an E-Mail with the info to each school. It can’t hurt.
You should follow up and self-report so they don’t wonder if you have five bad exam scores.
Thanks for the advice! Should I just self-report my AP scores in an email? Or Do I have to download my ap scores from College Board instead? Also, although I took five AP exams, I scored three 3s on Bio, Chem, and Physics 1. Do you have any idea how to not let college know about this?
Just self report. Most schools don’t consider APs for admission. To get credit later (if the college will accept it) you’ll probably have to pay for a score report.
If you are applying to selective colleges, they would care about your AP scores. If you only self report two of your highest scores, they will assume your other three scores are low or very low.
Bottom line is that colleges will not see your AP scores unless you report them or if they are on your transcript. But if you took AP classes but don’t self report the scores, they will assume you don’t have good scores.
