a lot of people keep telling me i should take 4 foriegn language classes in high school for colleges to even notice you.. so far i have 3 but im not interested in forgien languages. do u think ill be ok for colleges like UVA, Cornell, Virginia Tech? Im applying to their engineering schools by the way

how many language credits do you guys have??

Bumpppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

2 is the bare minimum. 4 would be impressive.

because I'm intersted in engineering and Im not too hot about foriegn language stuff, can I stop at 3 languages? What will colleges like UVA think?
Has anyone been admitted to the CC top colleges with 3 or less language credits?

3 language is fine dude.

I know that my only sister to take four years actually got into Cornell and several other reaches. Everyone else in my family took two and ended up going to mediocre out of state schools. If you think that you can pull a decent grad I think that you should go for it otherwise don't bother. I would also go and talk to your guidance counselor and see what he/she thinks. I think they are saying now that colleges prefer four years of math and science and that they would be willing to forgive only two years of a language.

3 is good enough.

Are you talking about 3 different languages or 3 years of lanugages?

It has to be at a minimum two years of the same language.

3 years of normal high school spanish...

3 years look good......but 4 years look great :)

Taking 4 years of one language can only help you, so why not go for it? Unless you have a mega-packed, muy dificil schedule, then I would definitely take it.

Well, Gandhiji, look at your situation like this....

A hundred dollars is okay, three hundred dollars is good, but four hundred dollars is the most outstanding in the bunch....

Which one would you pick?

I am going to let you make the decision!

woot i took 4 but i always got B's in them... if you like the subject than do 4, but if not... then don't because i had the WORST time in AP French IV...

No, no no. its more like $100 is mediocre at best, $200 is like you never did it $400 is like the bare minimum, and $800 is like the standard.

My sister took 3 years of German and got into good schools with decent scholarships.

theoneo: did your sister take an AP Language?

bump...........

No, she took German 1 through 3, with no honors available.
