Form DS-160 Question

Hey CC. I have started the horrible process of applying for my student visa and I am hoping that everything works out well!

Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the point of entry?

I HAVE been refused a US Visa once before in June 2003. It was a tourist visa.

I selected 'yes' and a textbox came up saying: 'Explain'.

I will state when, where and what type of visa I was rejected for... but do I need to state why? I think it was because of poor ties... I was 11/12 then. What's the best way I can phrase the reason for my rejection?

Thanks. I'm simply horrible when it comes to doing offical forms and all that and I go blank and crazy over little things!

i have the same exact problem…denied the same exact time as you.

do you think if you put “No” as the answer they would know? because this seems like the easiest option to avoid any other possible denials

jacktharippa - don’t lie, they will be able to find out if they want to.

I think doughboy now has his visa, so it would be interesting to know what he ended up writing in that regard.
