Formal Interview Attire

Hi,

Tomorrow I'm having my interview for one of the most competitive undergraduate business programs in the country. Things are somewhat complicated by the setting of the interview; I'm getting interviewed by an investment banker at his workplace. Should I go for the full "power suit" because of the added formality of the setting, or should I stick to the traditional "business casual" dress code?

Thanks.

This is about one of the few interview locales where I would support a suit. However, make sure you’re comfortable in it. Your usage of the term “power suit” makes me feel like you may overdo it. I have many suits. They’re mine and enhance me – none of them are “power suits”. Be yourself.

Yes, I am with T26E4. Wear a suit. And shine your shoes if they need it.

Yes, that setting does call for a more dressy look than the typical college interview.

But make sure that the suit fits properly, rather than making you look like a high school student wearing a parent’s too-big suit.
