I'm trying to paste my essays into the Common App for the supplement. Obviously I've written more than one paragraph for them, and indentations aren't supported, so I'm having some trouble formatting them properly. I put a space between each paragraph, but for some reason that screws up and ends up cutting my essay down to like 20 characters under the limit. This keeps happening. What should I do? Just leave it with no spaces between the paragraphs?

If I learned anything about the common app, it is to always PREVIEW what you paste.
What appears in the application doesn’t count until it’s generated into a PDF version of your application. I was able to distinguish between paragraphs by hitting enter between paragraphs. You could try that and hit preview to see what comes up.

I believe our daughter attached her essay instead of copying/pasting? Is that an option that might work?

^I don’t believe there’s an option to attach the supplement essays. Only the Common App main.

^^I am trying to space it like that. But when I go to save it, it screws up and deletes the last like 20 characters, even though I have plenty of space left.

Have you tried to copy/paste with no formatting at all and then do your hard returns after pasted in the common app and before previewing?

Sorry if it’s not much help…
