Do we get a formula sheet on the chem AP test?

Our teacher said we will probably have one, but I noticed that in the Princeton Review practice tests they give you a periodic table, but no formula sheet.

Our teacher said we will probably have one, but I noticed that in the Princeton Review practice tests they give you a periodic table, but no formula sheet.

no we wont.

just the periodic table.

When I took it last year you got both.

so are they taking away the formula sheet this year?

bump…anyone know?

my teacher says you get a packet of formulas for Free response only… : /
i hope they don’t take that away lol

the MC you only get the periodic table

um, you definitely get a formula sheet & periodic table for the FRQs and just a periodic table for the multiple choice.

(my teacher didn’t tell us that either, she wanted us to memorize the formulas)

Hm, so we have to memorize formulas for the multiple choice?

I don’t think calculators are allowed on the MC part. It’s more about concepts. I don’t see why they can’t hand out the reference sheet at the beginning.

To clear the confusion, you get one sheet of reference paper. One side is the periodic table, the other is a list of formula categorized by topics. I’m surprised this isn’t more commonly known. We use the sheet on every test…

It’s a very good idea to ask your teacher for the sheet if you don’t have one already.

Ah yeah, looked through the PR book.

Seems like for free response you get the periodic table and a double sided formula sheet…

Guess we don’t really need to memorize formulas for MC then?

all yr long my chem teacher said we will be getting it for the whole exam, but just found out -the cb website clearly says that the formulas are not given for the mc section. it is given only for the frqs.

can someone who has taken the chem ap exam respond. pleeeez
now ill have to learn all the formulas?
can’t believe it!

no, the MC part really won’t ask questions that require usage of ridiculous formulas - and the numbers are usually nice round numbers. (because there is no calculator on MC)
