@CCadmin_Sorin, thanks! Such a huge improvement.
Maybe more explanation is needed?
On the Forum main page, under the column called “Highlights”, the second item down under “Latest Posts” is now “Forum Index” which brings you to this list which looks like the old CC page and makes it much easier to find everything:

I still think this list should be put back directly on the main Forum page to make it easier for new users. There’s needless junk on that page that could be removed to make space such as Most active this month list.
@doschicos, thanks.
@CCadmin_Sorin would that be possible, to put it on the main Forum page? I agree it would be helpful for new users.
This is something that was on everyone’s “most wanted” list and we’re glad this is finally available. It took some beating to get here, but hopefully this is an improvement in everyone’s experience while navigating the forums.
The forum index is very helpful, now can we just get rid of the tags? They take up a lot of space and seem completely arbitrary.
@MaineLonghorn, unfortunately this is not possible with the current Vanilla platform. This is the reason why it took so long to create the index page. We are however looking into options to make this better.
OK, thanks for the explanation.
I see that it is not possible now, but if/when it is possible I echo that this would be a good idea. I doubt many new users carefully study the forum list/index, and so probably don’t realize there’s an Athletic Recruiting forum, or one for learning differences. If they don’t know the forums exist, they probably won’t go looking for them.
This is HUGE and agree that it would be helpful on the main forum page.
Someone pointed out that there is now a “bot”, which I discovered when I went to the forum index page. And when I clicked on the symbol on the top left in the blue bar of the bot, it takes you to several pages of marketing info about the utility of the bot and how bots and automatic chats can cut down on the simple, repetitive questions to your agents, that reply.ai was acquired by something called Kustomer, etc. Just FYI.
And as for the bot, who is writing the script for the bot answers to college questions?
This area “community and forum issues” really should be on that list of highlights. Many users don’t even know this area exists and it takes quite a bit of clicking around to find it.
This is where you are making all of your announcements, and also where folks are putting their questions about this forum and its function. Why isn’t this important enough to be under highlights…especially since you presumably want people to read these things?
And yes, I realize i can get there using the Forum Index, but how many others don’t know that?
If they can at least use bold lettering on the words Forum Index, it will make it a lot more noticeable.
The index itself is great.
The Forum Index is great. Much easier to navigate.
Make that the home page. Put the highlights there someplace. I think you could omit “activity” and replace it with “community and forum issues”.
If this becomes the home page, just put a way to access bookmarks, and notifications at the top.
Thank you for this Forum Index. I think it’s easier to navigate once you get there.
Looks like the Forum Index is a small link under Highlights on http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/ .
However, the old navigation to forums other than the Top Forums has disappeared, so if users looking for those other forums do not realize that they can go to the Forum Index, they may not be able to find them any more.
@ucbalumnus, this is a glitch. I already signaled it to our team and we’re working on it.
