I’m seeing forums getting closed, how does that happen? Is that when one of the College Confidential staffs closed the forum?
Do you mean a thread? We close them for different reasons. Sometimes a person resurrects a thread that is years old. The information may be outdated, or there may be posts that are inappropriate, so we close it. Sometimes a thread deteriorates into bickering, so we’ll close it. Occasionally a person is banned and all of his posts are deleted - if he was the original poster in a thread, the thread disappears.
@MaineLonghorn, Would you mind taking a look at this thread that was closed and explain to the forum why? It is not as old as several other resurrected threads that are allowed to continue, none of the info is outdated, it is VERY relevant to the current forum discussions, has lots of information that is useful and does not need to be repeated, and most all of the people that have been posting on it over the last two years are still current on the forum.

Several forum members have begun to question this on the Musical Theatre forum.

Thanks.
@Dusing2, thanks for the link to the thread. One of the posters put it best:
@Times3 - <<I think it has to do with difference between a thread that’s been continuously added to for a long time, on a regular basis, versus one that has been moribund for a year or two and then brought back into play.
Pretty sure the moderators aren’t hanging around deciding whose opinions are “popular.” >>
That thread had not been posted in since November, 2013! So a new thread makes sense. If there are any particularly important posts, you could copy and paste them.
One problem with old threads is that some of them weren’t moderated, and the current moderators don’t have time to go through hundreds of posts to see if there are any TOS violations. Also, new posters tend to assume that posters from 2013 are still on CC, and ask them questions.
@MaineLonghorn, is there a way for you to post that same information on the MT forum, in the thread that Dusing2 linked? Thanks in advance!
Times…the moderator posted at 1:45 yesterday with a clear explanation on that thread.
