Forwarding Berkeley Application to other UC's?

I have a question for those of you that applied to Berkeley. Do you recall the letter you received from the President stating that they would forward your application to the "other" UC's to review? If so, what exactly did this mean? Have any of you received an email or letter from any UC's that you did not directly apply to? I'm so confused about this. Thank you in advance for any info!

It doesn't matter whether you applied to Berkeley or not. Your application is forwarded to other campuses for review. Most people get this email.

Kyledavid, I understand that. I guess my question would be: and then what? Do you wait for an email or letter if they are interested in you? Also, if you are identified as an ELC, are you really guaranteed a UC spot even if you did not apply to that school?

I suppose so. I have friends who got letters from UCs they didn't apply to, so I assume that's how it works.

You are guaranteed a spot somewhere, yes, and you may get that spot at a UC you didn't apply to.

^^ Does this mean if the other schools had any interest in my son they would have already contacted him ? He only applied to the top two (stupid I know) and I am getting nervous now that he will not be accepted to any:(
