Foster school of business transfer

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting to college confidential!

I am an undergraduate student at an Oregon community college and will be receiving an associates degree for business transfer. i will have taken econ 201 202 , financial and managerial accounting, business calc 1 and 2 and all prerequisites for Oregon universities. i am currently looking for schools to transfer to and university of Washington is my first choice. i really want to get in to the foster school of business. i know it is competitive, i currently have a 3.98 college gpa and when i took the SAT i got a 1780 my question is if i have shot at getting in, what i need to do, and if i can get into the foster school of business at the same time as i get into the university ( as i do not want to go to UW if i dont get in to FSB)

i will be graduating fall of next year and hope to get in during the spring of 2016 please let me know if you have any advice or any answers to my question!
also, if you have any other schools that are comparable to foster school of business i would love to hear them!

I don’t think UW offers general admission during the Spring.

my bad , it would be UW winter term i would be applying for.

Okay.
Yes, it is possible to be admitted to both UWS and FSB simultaneously.
However, UW Seattle reserves the majority of its transfer slots for in-state CC transfers, meaning that 4-year/OOS transfers have a much more difficult time transferring.
As an applicant that was recently admitted to UW Seattle for the Winter 2015 term, I can honestly say that having your pre-requisites completed and submitting a stellar personal statement is a must.
A high GPA most definitely helps, but I have seen many people getting in with 3.0-3.5s, including myself.
I can’t offer any help regarding FSB as I am a SPH major, but I recommend looking back on the Winter 2015 Transfer Thread as a handful of the members were admitted to FSB.

Your SAT score doesn’t matter once you’ve achieved your AA. Although there are pre application courses…don’t forget your pre-admission courses too like Business Stat and Business Law.

The criteria to which determines your addmitance to Foster are your combined GPA (40%) , Pre-application GPA (25%) and Writing Skills Assessment (35%). I recently got addmitted and scored slightly above the average accepted applicants for all 3 factors except for the WSA. The average applicant who applied winter 2015 and got accepted got an average of 3.56 combined gpa. For pre-application gpa the average was 3.67 for accepted applicants and 4.22 for the WSA score. Faculty members have told me that people usually get stumped on the Writting Standard Assessment (5 is a perfect score). I literally forced practiced myself for the WSA, timing myself for 90 minutes to write constructive and thoughtful timed essays. I’d reccomend you do the same.
