Found another Interest BUT....

I'm currently interested in Athletic Training because I get to be in an athlete environment and would love to spend time treating them. But now, I found another interest (I still like the idea of Athletic Training).

I think helping autistic children will really be a valuable, rewarding career. My experience working with these kids will be satisfying on my part and I like the idea of helping them catch up to their peers. I would like to coach them through life to better understand new acquired knowledge. Now the problem is I do not know what kind of career or major should I take in college. I was thinking that it should be related to medical and psychological field, but that is all I know. Anyone have any information for this?

for autism, psych would be the best major.

Communication Disorders (may also be called Speech-Language Pathology, Speech and Hearing Sciences, Communicative Disorders, etc--depending on the school), Psychology, Special Education.

Wow thank you so much! Do you guys have any suggestions?

Another choice could be Occupational Therapy - many opportunitie to work with all types of handicaps - in many different venues.

Great foot in the door for Special Olympics - to feed that sports thing....
