Hello people ! I am from India and this is my gap year .(aspiring for astrophysics or electronic engineering)
I went to the university of Manchester website and found that my qualifications are somewhat less than that required by the university . So someone told me about the foundation year .
After completing the foundation year one gets admission into first year of desired field.
So my question were : Is it taught in University itself?
Are there many students who take it ??
Is it worth taking?

Maybe that will help!

you wil have to ask the university.
If you want information about that specific course, you need to ask theuniversity. I an tell you that in general foundation years are not that uncommon. My experience is that it is usually mature students who did not complete high school (for whatever reason) who take them. Looking at the link posted by PandaPower above, it appears this specific course is recommended for foreign students.
Only you can answer that. Obviously it will cost money, and your time in the UK will be one year longer. However, if there is no other way of gaining entry to Manchester uni, and that is your dream, then you might need to do it. Looking into whether you can do A-level or AP courses at hom first though. This would be a lot cheaper than a foundation year.
