<p>Last night in Denver, Colorado - The West Point Society of Denver conducted a dinner with guest speakers celebrating Founders Day. Cadets from the last 70 years class of 1945 through 2002 came and spoke at this function. Guest note speaker was BG Curtis Scaparrotti Commandant of Cadets. All accepted nominations for the Class of 2010 together with their parents were invited. I was thankful to be given this insight into the Army. To see and heard cadets from The Long Grey Line speak of past years and campaigns with the Army was a tremendous boost for the up coming class of 2010. BG Scaparrotti is a very inspiring speaker who also met with these nominees separately prior to the dinner to answer all their questions as well as provide these gentlemen a very motivational speech.
This program reaffirmed my sons commitment to West Point. Although he really doesnt need any more commitment or determination, my wife and I needed this function; and we now feel safe and confident with the Academy, and we are looking forward to Reception Day June 26th. I hope many of you have had the opportunity to hear previous cadets talk about their days at West Point. What a wonderful evening and my thanks to the West Point Society of Denver and the privilege of being invited to this event.</p>
<p>Welcome and congratulations! Your future cadet is about to enter the premier leadership school in the nation for our young men and women. You can feel safe and confident about that!</p>
